After looking at several sites, the place I turn to first is now Pixabay.  Followed closely by Morguefile.  You can find a wide variety of beautiful photos for your blog, or even your website.

Also, government photos are copyright free.  So you can generally use NASA photos on your personal website (see the guidelines here).
